How is the First Season Compared to the Second Season (Netflix)

I've been watching the second season because the first season isn't on Netflix and I think it's really good. Am I missing out? Is the first season a lot better?

I'm going to find it and I'm going to destroy it. I don't know how yet. Possibly with dynamite.

I don't think it's better. But you're missing out. If you really liked the second season, then watch the first. It tells more about Ginko's past as well if you're curious about that.

Definitely worth watching, they're both equally good and the more to watch the merrier. If you want to know how and why Ginko looks the way he does I suggest watching the first season. It used to be available streaming, but now only on dvd. A shame for people who don't get dvds. I'm actually tempted to buy both seasons if I can eventually. They are rewatchable.

I haven't finished season 2 but I think the first season was a bit better. What really struck me about the first season is that there were many episodes that packed a huge emotional sucker punch... and using characters you had just been introduced to 10 minutes ago.

Season 2 may nail the feel and atmosphere of the show, but I think the writing is a notch below. So far I've seen far too many episodes where I found myself asking "so what?" It's like there's no conflict. Things just happen one after the other. Now, there have been some really, really good episodes and maybe I'm forgetting how many not-so-amazing episodes the first season had, but that's my feelings for right now :)

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.
