Maybe the best Film of Loach

This is one of the best if not the best one between Loach films.

Realistic, very good directed, makes you forget that you are watching a fiction, and how can be fiction when the story is a real part of modern life.

The biggest success of the film is that focus into the lives of both immigrants and local western people.Shows clearly how capitalism, imperialism, sexism affects evrybody's life. The desperation is present as the main motive for surviving, and this is isnt going only to immigrants but is also clear in Angie's life.

I found only some minor faults in direction, like london was constantly shine in the whole movie to help Angie riding her motorcycle,it rained only once if i remember right.

I've seen that many comments are negative about this film and i find this very strange,it is by far one strong real film that gives a kick in the belly for anyone who has the mental ability to recognize in this scenario important elements of the modern world.

You don't mention other Ken loach films.Which ones do you feel match or are close to It's a free world?
I for one find myself intrigued, surprised by the freshness of the cinematography and the constant turns of the script.
These characteristics were there in other Loach films more.AND there was more feeling. For example:Paul,Mick and..
(The one about the spanishcivil war)
Sweet Sixteen(a personal favourite)
And I steel have the earlier ones to see!

Looking over the list of the director's other movies, I don't recognize any I have seen, but I was certainly not impressed by this film. It does seem like a made-for-TV film. It wasn't that the directing was bad, the movie just doesn't stand out. There were some very poor parts of the script like where Angie reported the camp to immigration, it just didn't make sense. If she had cleared it out, she couldn't have put her people right in there because it wouldn't have been safe and the call she made--they wouldn't have even answered the phone in a government office and gotten her through to the right person in the amount of time the whole conversation took.

The subject matter and the general way it was handled and the realism of much of the film are fine, I just don't see it as outstanding in any way.

I will watch some of his other films when I run across them.
