Shocking scene totally unnecessary (Spoiler)

For a movie that wants to be a mix of drama and comedy, I found it totally unnecessary and absolutely disgusting where they leave the baby at the church's doorstep (at night), not even check to see if the baby was taken in, come back because of the rain and find the baby practically drowned from the water, then tak e the baby to the hospital (with the cliche where the nurse says "if you could fill out these forms first"???), then see the baby being defibrillated (including seeing the baby jumping up in the air from the shock). That ruined the rest of the movie for me. That kind of stuff should never be in a movie.

The worst part about that scene is, that it's really hard to avoid noticing that IT'S A DOLL! It was so obvious. The prop guys didn't know their job, just like the director.

But yeah you are right, that scene was pretty unnecessary. It they wanted the baby to be sick, they could just have gotten her sick. That scene didn't raise emotions or made me feel for anyone. Terrible movie.

I actually thought this was the best scene in the film. Aside from the predictable climax of the scene(It's a miracle) Come on Sajid, you can be more creative than that.

Abhinav, of course they had to use a doll, because administrating electric shocks to a real baby, causing it to convulse, would be damn right unethical.

Although I agree with one part with the OP, the film is not a very succesfull mix of drama and comedy. At times it works, but most of the time it seems very convulted.

No man of course I know they HAD to use a doll. But make it less obvious! They spent millions on the movie, they shouldn't just buy a doll from toys r' us and start filming. The prop guys could have made something that looks like a real baby. It's a little thing, but little things create standards.

But yeah eh..a miracle. WHOAA..I haven't seen that happening EVER.

If you remember, the very first scene when they make baby food, that was like an animal operating the camera. It was so shaky it was hard to concentrate on the dialog.

Atrocious movie - that hospital scene was dreadful and then Akki breaking down - I wanted to hit him on the head. How exactly did the basket fill up with water? Baskets are not water-tight you know. And that caused her lungs to fill up with water? If it got to the point she would already be drowned and not just have pneumonia.

U people have obviously never seen Mehmood's "Kunwara bAAp" that entire rain sequence is lifted from that movie. Sajod Khan should check his own collar before commetning on other directors who copy story ideas.

Another thing to be noted. After the baby was saved from the hospital. All three of them touched her feet as a sign of apology. Since Al (Fardeen Khan) was a muslim, still he touched the feet and muslims aren't allowed to touch feets in their religion.

Do you agree with me?

Muslims aren't allowed to touch feet in their religion? enlighten me please.

reply

it's cause Sajid Khan has balls.

reply

it isnt like we are not allowed, we muslims prefer to kiss the top of the head as a sign of respect or to ask for forgivness.

and i totally agree if Fardeen can pray then why not kiss her head for forgiveness.

reply

Muslims are also not supposed to sleep around with women they are not married to, so if you take that line of reasoning, a lot of Fardeen's actions won't fall into place at all!

reply

It depends on whose feet you're talking about. Touching a child's feet is alright in Islam. However, to kiss the feet of another adult to seek for forgiveness in Islam is not permissible in Islam, because the Muslims are not allowed to prostrate to other human being, as it amounts to an act of worshiping.

There is nothing wrong with touching a child's feet. And no, Islam doesn't prohibit its followers from touching feet. Islam only prohibits kissing feet to seek for forgiveness because Islam does not allow its followers from prostrating to other human being.

I'm glad you ask this question, & I'm glad to have given you an answer.

totally agreed.... i found that scence really ridiculous. they could have come up with something more creative to prove the whole "miracle" thing.. but noo..

reply

Yup I agree! The scenes before it were very funny... the whole drowned baby scene was kinda disturbing and I hated the guys after the scene.. and Akki's crying was sooooooooo fake.

reply

This is totally one of the biggest reasons as to why I hated the film.

It's almost as if Sajid Khan was trying to force the audience into crying or trying to make them feel something. That and the fact that the film sucks.

Oooh what a poor choice of words.

so true....agree with the poster totally...

I got so pissed off after that scene and I couldn't watch the rest of the movie in peace...I already knew it then that I was going to hate the movie....Its too hard to believe that guys who can leave a baby out in the rain like that will have a sudden change of heart....extremely lame indeed...as most of bollywood films are ;)
