weak performance from Kusturica...

he is good director but, when it comes to acting he is very very bad.

reply

David Soul was pretty hammy too. Some curious casting, I suppose necessitated by budget.

reply

Bad in what way? I thought that he acted well. The material required him to be a bit over-the-top heroic at points, but that's not his fault. He acted very well in _The Widow of St. Pierre_, too. I can't say that I've seen anything that Kusterica has directed, but I've never had cause to call him a bad actor.

You should try to track down two Kusterica films ... Black Cat/White Cat is very good, and Underground, in the long cut, is a masterpiece.

But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.

Are you joking? I thought he carried the movie.

reply

did you hear razzies?
The award for bad acting are called "The Razzies" and they're given out each year (just like the Oscars).
and believe me that kusturica's acting even don't deserve a razzie!
he was so bad and cliche!

reply

he was terrific
the ham acting came from the guy playing Reagan.

reply

Yeah he was totally distracting. Kusturica was fantastic.
