Alice

Truly terrible character... or perhaps just over-acted by the girl/woman who portrayed her. Either way, the film would have benefitted with less screen time of her.

I'm 40 minutes into the film... I'm quite certain I will give up and shut it down in the next 10 if she continues with that atrocious attempt to look sharp or with that annoying quiver.

I can't say the film is good either.

The character of Alice has to be. But,they could've gotten a better actress. A.M. sucks! I wonder what/who she did to get this role?

120% agreed. Her character was truly unimaginably annoying, awful, and pointless and I was hoping that she would get killed off in the movie. But unfortunately, despite everything the b_tch still lived!

YES! As if this movie didn't have enough problems we're subjected Allison Miller's atrocious acting. She makes Kristen Stewart look like a thespian in comparison. I rolled my eyes when she survived at the end of the film.

i hate alice too, such an annoying character...

Given the circumstances the character was forcibly thrust into, initially having no clue as to what was happening, how do you think Alice should've been portrayed? I have no doubt, your incisive opinions come not from screen and/or stage experience but from watching cartoons, where the 2D faces can't show human reactions. Gianna Jun did many of her own stunts & swordplay, and gave a better than credible performance. She was the hero[heroine]of the piece; Alice her human half. If you think this live action version failed;so be it. The lead actors did a good job. If you've done better, I'd enjoy seeing your work.

I thought she was the best part of the first 40 minutes. Granted I've watched those 40 minutes several times and barely have any idea what's happening. Came here to try to figure out who "Blood, the Last Vampire" is before watching the rest of the film. Still don't know.

Yeah I thought she was the best actor in the thing TBH, for the first 40 mins. Or second to the council guy in the hat.

I would say this film suffers from ESL syndrome. Certain subtle cultural points that foreign directors and actors miss that undermine its credibility.
That and poor special effects.

Yup Alice was a terrible annoying character! I rather they kept the fat nurse! Alice made no impact on the movie and was just a waste. If they didn't want the fat nurse than perhaps they should had just focus on the Saya, her organization, and military base full of vamps!

Alice wasn't needed and didn't add one single thing! Waste of money!

I liked Alice. I thought she was really good. =)

I agree, Alice was the weakpoint of the film with respect to characters. Either the writer didn't give her character enough layers to make her interesting or Allison Miller just couldn't put a spin on her character to make her bearable on film.

In fact, it was so bad I was ready to quit on the film on the 40 minute mark until the film introduced Koyuki. Koyuki + Gianna Jun + fight sequences = watchable film.
