shareWhile I do think that this show is harmless and good for the pre-school set, I must agree that it is not what A A Milne intended.
The original Pooh books were much more intelligently written (they could be enjoyed on two levels -- child AND adult) and were much more "philosophical" (really -- I'm not kidding).
Even the 1960s Disney versions of A A Milne's books were closer to the tone Milne had in mind, but they did not quite grasp the feelings of the original books Winnie-the-Pooh and The House on Pooh Corner, the latter of which had a poignant ending when Cristopher Robin said he had to leave his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood (i.e., he was growing up).
