i thnk she is a brilliant actress so why is she not doing challenging and serious roles in films she clearly is capable of.

Don Imus will get a gig before Shannen does. She wore out her welcome on 3 shows, including 1 before the pilot aired, and would've been booted from North Shore if it wasn't already canceled.

Probably because her reputation is of her being a crazy diva who got kicked off shows in the past, got into fights in bars etc.
