Why did Daniel have to run Mode specifically?

Why not just give him another one of Meade's dozens of magazines? Why did he have to have this one? Just give Wilhemina what she wants goddammit she earned it.

For a while, he did run Player, a non-nudity lads' mag. But Mode is the flagship magazine of Meade Publishing, which means it's basically the biggest jewel in the crown.

Always felt the same way. He was bad at running Mode. It was Wilhemina's magazine. I never rooted for Daniel and the magazine - too ridiculous. He wanted the power of running something he didn't love or understand, whereas Wilhemina was the natural and right for the job.
