Love this show, but i got one issue....

Will Traveler was miscast. I like Aaron Stanford, but I didn't buy him as a super sleuth that could kick the crap out of people.

Anyone agree?

I think he did a good job as Will. Sure maybe not realistic but it was good

I never saw him as a super sleuth though. I saw him more as an operative with a certain mission. His mission changed and he questioned it and adjusted for it. I don't feel he was miscast at all. Remember, he had to appear to be at the same level as Jay and Tyler and fit in. I think people get way too dialed into a TV show being reality, it's not unless it's billed as a "reality" show. These are storytellers and we have to suspend reality a bit to just enjoy the story.

The real spies/whatever aren't the handsome, chiseled features, perfect looking men. They're the average looking men who wont draw attention to themselves by their looks.

Look at Michael Weston in Burn Notice. I'd buy him more than I buy most of the James Bonds, etc.

reply

Yeah... Michael Weston is, like, the definition of handsome, chiseled, and perfect. Burn Notice is designed around having plenty of opportunities for beautiful people, nice cars, and explosions.

I totally agree. He has this far too youthful/innocent appearance for the role, which could have worked for a character who's supposed to be misleading, but the performance wasn't strong enough to sell me the character.
