Info please. I'm frustrated!!!

I have been trying to catch this show for 3 weeks now since seeing my first episode maybe a month ago.I would actually take the night off to see it and then they changed the times. I was so mad!! (I am a huge Northern Exposure fan and thought this show sounded similar). First of all, is this the second season or still the first? When will this season end? How can I see the episodes I missed? I keep looking for the dvd before Christmas but if this is still season one, I guess it won't be anytime soon. Thanks for any help.

ABC is currently showing the second season of MIT. Eps 202 to 206 were originally meant to be the end of season 1, but ABC held them back until this fall, then created a new ep (201) in an attempt to bridge the massive (8 month) gap between episodes.

The first season officially had 17 episodes, The 8th episode of season 2 will be shown this friday (9/8 c). ABC has a list of the episodes (with recaps) here: http://abc.go.com/primetime/menintrees/index?pn=recap#t=32282

If you are American, you can see the most recent four episodes on line at ABC:

As far as I know, there is currently no date scheduled for the season 1 dvd release.

Don't give up on it; it is truly worth it! It is by far one of the best hours of television in my opinion this season. It's so overlooked unfortunately that it's been treated quite badly by the network, being switched around and put on hiatus last season and what-not. However, you can see the last four or five episodes for free at abc.com... I'm crossing my fingers the first season will actually be released on DVD sometime in the near future!

ABC has carelessly thrown MIT all over their schedule and yet amazingly people keep watching, maybe they'll realize they finally have a good show on their hands.

thanks for the info. I think I might get a dvd recorder if i can afford it just in case there is no dvd.

I use a DVR to record the episodes. Right now it seems to be on winter haitus and should restart again in January like the other shows. It's usually on Friday nights 9pm central time.

It's definetly worth watching and, for me, is one of the best shows on tv right now.

reply

It's not on winter hiatus. There was a new episode on last night and there is a new episode on this coming Friday as well.

It won't be as affected by the strike yet, or winter hiatus, because five of last season's episodes were pulled and aired this season-- so they've got something like 13 unaired episodes already in the can.

I just checked my listings, again, and the new episode for this friday, the 14th has been taken off the list and a repeat put in. What gives???!!!!

reply

They probably have a limited number of new ones cause of the strike and are probably trying to stretch them out as much as possible.

I know! that was so frustrating haha! ABC had even been running clips all week for the "new" episode. Something about Marin having a movie night at the Chieftan. Anyways, apparently on January 18th they are showing an episode, ABC has not said if it is a new one yet though.

The Men in Trees homepage on ABC.com is saying that the new episode, "Charity Case," will be shown on Feb. 27th. We were told that the new day and time would be on Wednesday nights at 9:00 in the Mountain time zone; check your local listings.

It will be back on February 27!!! ABC is seriously messing around with my favorite show! You can go to the message boards on abc.com to see what people are doing to try and get the show back on.

The new shows will be back on Wednesday Feb 27, 10 pm. We have 11 more episodes in the season. If you want more information you can check out the forum at ABC. It is very active.

We have this show currently showing in Australia and I'm so totally hooked!! Although most people I talk to have never heard of it because it doesn't get much publicity unlike shows like "lost" which is plugged like every other ad. Plus they split the first series in two so they only showed about 8 episodes of series 1 then took it off air for a year! We're up to about episode 15 of series 1. I'm spreading the word...I tell everyone I meet about this wonderful show.
