Worst. Movie ending. Ever.

What an awful way to end this movie. It could have been interesting, it could have been uplifting, leading to some sort of understanding for his family, and some measure of peace for Ted himself. The movie had me turning back to it all evening, and then... what a horrible ending! All I can say is, Rob Lowe must have needed the money.

Yeah ,I agree. I felt that the ending suck. So all the stuff he did, and tried to do was a waste . I bet his wife and kid wished he never came home.

Sci fi should be ashamed to even air this movie!!! this racist bull and dumb storyline I have ever seen, It is a discrace to the soilders fighting and thier families who have been without them. and oh look three white kids listen to rap music and beating on a arabic kid, give me a break. and max's mom are you kidding me her child burns a man to death and she is trying to figure out how to get him off so their goes the morality of the people in the u.s. this movie shows us don't take on all the scrips you read and don't do movies for friends, because i can only figure out that rob lowe is a friend or something to someone in this movie, or else he would not have made it. or he owed a big favor!! they should have left it at the funeral scene!!

Wait a minute.

It is a discrace to the soilders fighting and thier families who have been without them.

How?

and oh look three white kids listen to rap music

Oh, and only black people listen to Eminem?

and max's mom are you kidding me her child burns a man to death and she is trying to figure out how to get him off so their goes the morality of the people in the u.s.

Oh, right, because a parent who very nearly lost their child to a car accident and after just having woken up from a coma wouldn't plot to protect said child from going to jail?

There was a film that came out a few years ago called The Deep End where a woman THINKS her son killed a man (he died accidently) and goes out of her way to cover up the man's death.

Okay, this movie wasn't that great, but it was okay. I hated the part where he gets possessed and tries to kill everyone, but it was okay. And I just saw the terrible The Eye remake and SOE 2 was way better than that.

This movie isn't racist---it's simply a story using the horror genre to to take a look at the Iraq war from a veteran's point of view. The white kids beat the down the Arabic dude (whom they didn't even know) because they were angry, drunk as hell and took it out on a complete stranger. FYI,a LOT of Arab-Americans have, in fact, been either killed or harassed because people were mad as hell at anybody who even remotely looked Arabic (the irony being that a lot of Americans of East Indian descent have gotten similar harassment, because some people don't know or can't tell the difference between the two. This movie isn't condemning a damn thing the soldiers did---to me it's definitely a metaphor for the postwar trauma and dislocation a lot of soldiers have to deal when coming back for the war.

Also how the hell is a story or movie racist just for dealing with the subject of racism? Obviously you have NO understanding of the word, or you wouldn't even be saying something that ridiculous. I guess you didn't like the film because it's not some cheerleading advertisement for the war. The bottom line is that the war is complete and utter bulls**t, Bush started it only so he and his cronies could get their damn hands on Iraq's oil---that's ALL it's ever been about. I didn't like the ending either--I felt it could have been not so bleak, even though I love bleak endings. At least the scriptwriter was trying to do something different--there are very few Iraqi war horror films I've seen.

I thought it was great. He killed one of the most annoying characters I'd ever seen in a movie. Of course, even death couldn't shut her up.

I know my response is five years late, but this piece of shi$$ is on right now, and I work from home, generally with the tv on in the background for company (muted during meetings).

This is the hollywood cr*p they put out in an attempt to destroy our country and eliminate us as the protector of democracy.

I hope this idiot 'author/director' has grown up since he wrote that.

I hated the ending too. It was just a couple of things that the the script (which actually had a good story) suffered from.

I thought it was a bit "WTF?" as well. I'd have preferred the ending if the son had met a similar fate to the lad he killed and that the annoying bitch of a mother hadn't come back from the dead.
