Rife with platitudes, but pro Gay

As with any other fundamentalist christian-themed parable, this one was full of the same tired old homilies and clichés. The football platitudes were just as banal. The acting was mediocre at best, embarrassingly bad in some cases, but at least the makers of this particular christian propaganda film made an effort to separate themselves from the herd by employing a number of gay actors. So, maybe there's some hope of redemption even for the backward masses of America's hinterlands.

I thought most actors were volunteers from the church...or other friends. Have not heard about their sexual choices.

Do you have a source...maybe I am wrong>

I was in the army with a fellow who went to high school in Albany. He’s the one who told me that he knew several of the citizens of Albany who appeared in the film. He pointed out the ones who were known to be closeted gays, but figured it was not his job to “out” them, so he didn't make a big deal out of it. Probably best not to make your minority sexual orientation public in an insular community like Albany, Georgia, especially when you have to go on living and working with folks whose self-righteous attitude affects how they deal with people they view as "different".

So, you don't have a reliable source, just a guy you were in the army with. I love this film and i have read several articles and reviews about it as well as corresponding with the Kendrick brothers and this is the first i've heard of the film using homosexual actors. Is it possible that your army buddy was either mistaken or pulling your leg?

Most Christians wouldn't/shouldn't be opposed to working with homosexuals, that's not in any way condoning the lifestyle.

We're all sinners in our own ways, so you're working with sinners whether the sin be homosexuality or something else.
