Vertigo

Did anyone notice that part of this film is based on Hitchcock's Vertigo?

reply

Yes, of course. Some scenes have to be based on some movie...is there any originality left? I mean, seriously...do you really think in 3 hours of movie, director can show something that has not been shown in any one of the thousands of movies that have been released? Unless the entire movie is inspired/based on one particular movie, stop nit-picking.

reply

I'm not talking about recycling. Yes, there will always be recycled ideas, there are only seven types of stories, but Bhagam Bhag takes the specifics of Vertigo for a large section of its film; it's not "nit-picking."

reply

Well, i didn't know how much of the part is based on Vertigo, but it's really irritating when people just talk about short scenes and compare it the other movies.

reply

You're correct. It takes portions from the 1995 Malayalam comedy "Mannar Mathai Speaking", which itself has Vertigo's plotline.
