Does ths take place in the same area as the first movie

And Im assuming it does due to the reapperance of 2 of the hillbillies - but forgive me as my recollection of the first is a little hazy

So the surviours from the first.....have they not thought to contact the authorities?? Get them to send in someone..army etc to wipe the freaks out? - Hell it could even be a passable movie idea...

Also arent all the cars seen to be in a huge field - have these all been moved now to the factory??

Also luckiest people in the movie...the 2 tech guys..theyve spent a while putting cameras up in the woods, setting the traps etc...yet leave unscathed

With hope in your heart.
You'll never walk alone!!

I think they're two different hillbilly families. The roads were different and where they lived was different.

reply

no- there are people like this ALL OVER the united states.

but wasnt that old man from the first movie?

reply

Yeah, I could never figure out why in the first movie had the old man not a) called the authorities b) got the hell out of there or c) been eaten yet. This movie makes it clear that he stuck around because he was the patriarch of the family. So I'm going to assume it was relatives (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews) of the originals, and they were all children of the old guy.

Actually, the two techies didn't get away. Notice at the end, when the camera pans over the clothes line to the surviving cannibal with the baby, you see two Hawaiian shirts hanging covered in dirt and blood. Those are the techie's shirts. They must have been captured after they left the crew. I was wondering about the same thing throughout the whole movie. Why weren't they killed while they were setting up the cameras? A small deviation from what would really have occurred in order to push the plot points along. I've watched this movie a couple times and only noticed this the last time I watched it.

Omg now that you mentioned it I just remembered as well, that there are two hawaiian shirts at the end lmao, cuz i was like damn those two guys were in the woods for hourssss and did not get hurt???

it was meant to be in the same-ish area.. the fork in the road looked similar AND threefinger or w/e was a character in this as well.
