the rape was bad enough itself, why show Selma Blair getting F'd with a broken beer bottle? Sadist director.

So you think it was the director's idea, not the script writer?

The director ok'd it, so they're both at fault.

It's a nasty scene. It's not his problem that you don't like it. Did you want fluffy bunnies and butterflies, like a sing-along Disney film?

I wanted them to shove the broken beer bottle up your backside, then atleast it would be deserving.

Rape scenes arent supposed to be nice to watch on film!

Rapes are ALWAYS messed up...

But I imagine it would take something truly extra for Selma Blair to do what she did so just a raping might not been enough

It's not nice but I think it works to get the point across about the sheer brutality of what she experienced which caused her to do what she did.

Just watched this, have to agree that the rape scene and the brutality of it was important to show why she did what she did. I totally got it and had no sympathy for the police guy or any of the others.
