What does this have to do with Saw?

Why is everyone comparing this to Saw? I understand how you could compare this to Se7en, but what the hell does Saw have to do with this miserable piece of dog crap? Is it because this has some really mild torture scenes? Most of the torture is off-screen. I can think of a few reasons why it has nothing to do with Saw though:

1. There were more than 2 people who could act in Saw
2. Saw had a coherent plot (until the 4th movie anyway)
3. Saw had interesting aspects to it
4. Saw was ACTUAL torture-porn. It had graphic gory scenes and intense survival moments.
5. Saw didn't have the worst end credit music in history (It's not like anyone would actually read the credits anyway, or that anyone involved in the movie would even want you to read them).

Maybe they're saying it's similar to Saw IV - VII, because both movies sucked beyond belief?

its a quite easy to answer your question!
there are not so many films with the subject pf torturing
and SAW is the most famous one.
people always make comparisons with things they know, so...

those people compare them because of the subject of these movies.
you compare them in their "quality" which is a different pair of shoes.

you are right, "killing gene" is not so well made,
its a cheap film
and though its not a really good movie
there are some interesting aspects.
