Pretty good movie

Let me start by saying I am a big fan of japanese movies and anime. I will try not give spoilers.

This movie succesfully explores the characters deeply, the communication breakdown between two young people and the unfortunate experiences they have encountered. I found the movie very realistic in terms of character development, dialogues but the story also had some fantasy charm on it which made the movie even more interesting and dramatic.

Nonetheless, it also had some cons, there were some fillers, not excessively, one may also say the story is slow paced, but that does not bother me because the cinematography is rather beautiful. The story was pretty sad, but not a tearjerker yet the drama is heavy.

I also dont agree that this movie could easily be called romance since the relationship between them is complex.

You will see bits of japanese culture in the movie, even the minor characters are very well built you will have strong opinions about them.

So in short, I recommend this movie to everyone who likes character study movies, in combination with a dramatic story.
