The 'Styling' of the Witches

This is minor, but one of the issues I had with this movie was with the "witches" that were coming to Rome from all over the world. The movie is obviusly set in present day with cell phones, ect... but the witches all look like rejects from the late 70's/early 80's discos. Did the wardrobe stylist and makeup person not realize the movie took place around 2007, not 1977? Or do women in Rome still dress like it's time to go to the 70's disco? Did this bother anyone else? Or am I just a snob? ;-)~

Well, *beep* me gently with a chainsaw. Do I look like Mother Theresa?

I disagree. He should have made it a period piece set in the 80s. audiences CAN handles olden tyme phones if the movie is set before 1995.

The witches style was painfully distracting, more so than analog phones! Their incessant laughing for no reason was comical! WTF?

Is Argento surrounded by "yes men" like George Lucas? Did no one say "oh man, that's just lame, Dario!"? Not even his daughter? Wow!

ITA. I found their styles completely distracting. Like it was 1986 and they were waiting on line to get their 33 Record autographed by Madonna. Just awful.

I agree with you and thought that aspect of the movie was very distracting. I thought I was looking at MTV early 80's hair band. The way they were acting was awful also.

I personally thought these witches were fabulous and it added to the enjoyment.

It's how Argento imagines Goths look like.

I loved the witches. One of my favorite scenes is when they're walking through the airport. The laughing conveys that they absolutely don't care what anyone thinks and they could probably kill everyone around them if they so desired. I know there's a lot of disappointment about this movie. Having never seen the first two films, I can't compare. I just thought this was a really good witch movie.

Could not agree more!!! Super distracting and super ugly. None of it made sense to me. If it were an 80s movie, I'd somewhat understand it. But this just did not work at all.
