Peggy

I started watching Mad Men because my dad was at a big agency. I like it well enough, but anybody who cannot see that Elisabeth Moss is as homely as the day is long is nuts. They keep saying what a cutie she is (in equally dated, misogynistic language) and it's wretched to witness. I'm sure she's perfect for the show where she's an Arthur Miller riff. I often cover the screen when she's on.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
I agree that she is no great beauty, but she is an interesting character. The longer you watch it, the more interesting Peggy becomes.
I hope that you aren't so shallow that you miss out on an interesting show.

I think she got more attractive as the series went on. Which tells me it was all hair & Wardrobe that made her appear frumpy at first.

Dare ya to compare her Season 1 vs. Season 7.

She was meant to be a moderately attractive young woman. Not a great beauty, not beautiful enough to interest Don Draper, but nice-looking enough to get a bit of male attention when Joan, Betty, Meghan, or any of the show's other hotties weren't around. In that, Elizabeth Moss was well cast.

Anyone who thinks she's "homely as the day is long" is too picky to ever get laid in real life.

I think her looks improved as her character grew. We have to remember where she was in her life when she was hired by Sterling Cooper at the beginning of the show. Young, just out of secretarial school, presumably hadn’t left Brooklyn much, wet behind the ears, just “eager to help out” as Freddy Rumson once put it. As she found her footing and became more independent she grew as a person and her growing status gave her the confidence to make changes to her appearance, which she admittedly knew she had to do to play in the “boys club”; Joan reminded her of such on a few occasions. All the characters had moments when they were absolutely loathsome, and Peggy wasn’t spared of that either. But at the end she was attractive and I liked her; I’d argue she and Pete Campbell — ironic considering their history — evolved the most from the beginning of the show to the last episode.

I think she was hotter in the earlier seasons actually
