Salvatore Romano

Loved the show but I wanted Sal to come back, even for a single episode but wanted to know what happened to him.

reply

Agreed. The way he left felt abrupt and unceremonious, and this show generally wrapped things up better.

Writers wanted to give him episode or two, but when they approached actor he turned them down. Didn't want to go back to that show. I was listening to a radio interview with him and he asked Michael Gladis (Paul Kinsey, came back in Hare Krishma episode) for advice about coming back and he told him to stay away/to move one. Nothing good can come out of it. Something along those lines.

I've never understood why some people liked Sal so much, and wanted to see him come back. If you look at his actions throughout the show, he was pretty much a jerk all the way through.

I did feel compassion for him, being stuck in a world where he couldn't be what he was, without dire circumstances, but he was also a bully, yet weak and unkind.

I was a little curious as to what happened to him. Last we saw him, he was headed for a liaison in some men's restroom at a park.

After the Bye, Bye Birdie show he put on for Kitty, and her expression, their marriage ended not long afterwards. Presumably he then went on to having other liaisons for a while, perhaps got back into the ad biz as a director of ads, and maybe came to terms with his sexuality in an honest way and found happiness. One can hope anyway.

While I didn't much like him, because he was so morally weak that he was so willing to throw others under the bus, whom he perceived as weaker than he, or in a weaker position, when he thought it was to his advantage, all the same I can't help that he eventually found peace, and love.

Catmookss: I challenge you to diagram that last sentence/paragraph.

Maybe they could have worked it in, but it's not like when people leave your life (like coworkers) you get to know what happened to them.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.
