Terry Hobbs

It is well known and believed that Terry Hobbs killed the boys. Echols and his two co-defendants were railroaded by prejudicial, blind southern (mis) justice.

I'm not sure about all of that but all I can say is that the evidence leans more towards Hobbs than anyone else yet the police and judicial system was so inept that's it's hard to say who may or may not have done it. On a gut feeling (which everyone involved with this case seems to think is fact) is the WM3 are innocent.

What a/b the black male in the bojangles? NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON back then. No DNA taken, not searching for unsub & like he said RAILROADED by the inept.

reply

Lol...everybody said this about Byers until he came out and said he thought the boys were innocent. Then everyone turned to Hobbs...

So yea we get another film, implicating Mr. Bojangles?

All of the accusations against Hobbs, save for the sexual assault against his neighbor, were made by Pam Hobbs and are accepted as fact.

You lost me at that point, Scummy. Glad to see you are still here bumbling your way into being the next Jenkins.

So it was Pam who wrote in Amanda's diary that Terry (her father) sexually assaulted her as a child. It was Pam who made up the story about Terry shooting her unarmed brother. It was Pam who told the police that Terry saw a picture of the 3 boys on a couch with Damien in Terry's home. It was Pam who hid Stevie's pocketknife in a box in Terry's closet. It was Pam who told those 2 kids about the "Hobbs Family Secret". Etc... Don't you get tired of looking stupid?

"Don't you get tired of looking stupid?"

Says putter, who claims to be ignoring Jenkins, yet still mentions him in at least every other post.

I would ask you the same question, but the answer is an obvious "no!'.

Ah Scummy. Still too stupid to figure out quote tags I see.

Anyway, typical move, attack the poster not the content. The stupid is strong with you.

Yes they did. Now supporters are buying into the "Mr. Bojangles is the real killer" because they know that he will likely never be seen again. The supporters strategy is to move away from Hobbs and foster a reasonable doubt defense for the WM3.

Mr. Bojangles has always been suspicious to supporters. Where as Byers was as well, until it was found out that he had an airtight alibi for the day/night when the murders were committed.

As for Hobbs, the evidence does not look good (although I do not believe he had done it), there is more against him then for him frankly.

All I'm saying is that there is more evidence that points to Hobbs than the WM3.

Oh, I agree 100%. I just do not believe that Hobbs did it (or Byers for that matter).

It's just sad that the judge and jury really didn't care if the boys did the killings or not. In their eyes they were evil devil worshippers that should be put to death, or in prison regardless. It was a modern day witch trial.

reply

Unfortunately, there was one juror who was kind of corrupt and believe he was responsible for their conviction. He believed the three boys did it. He was very outspoken before jury selection and manipulated his way onto the jury. Three days before jury selection his brother was arrest for child molestation. During the voir dire he didn't tell the court about his brothers arrest (which would have tossed him off the jury), he also lied on the questionnaire they make you fill out, based on your answer is how they chose the jurors. His name is Kent Arnold, millionaire real estate developer and his creepy brother, Gerald Arnold. Google them and read the stories. Very interesting reading. He always believed they did it and wanted to make sure they paid. He ended up becoming the jury foreman.

reply

I still think Byers did it.

reply

I think both Terry Hobbs and John Mark Byers are responsible, there possibly was either a third party, or a potential witness which accounts for the "Bojangles" connection (perhaps the black man with the blood was a witness who got hurt trying to escape).

Hobbs and Byers were both questionably free enough that night to do it (both mothers were working if I remember) and the fathers were meant to be in charge. There's something incredibly fishy about Byers especially, he couldn't seem to get his story straight about the hunting knife and the time he was supposed to be there when his son was roaming about the streets.

Jesse's disjointed claims were definitely fishy, but the whole situation with the hunting knife was just really fishy to me. It's a really complex case which was very poorly investigated. We'll probably never know the truth.

What's the motive? Sexual abuse and subsequent cover-up?

Sadly, no matter all these conversations and the arguing, the world will never know the truth. More than 20 years passed, and the killers have kept their secret safe, they won't reveal it now. Whether the killers were the 3 convicted guys, or Mr Bojangles, or Terry Hobbs, or even Mark Buyers, all of them have shown suspicious behaviour and there are facts that could link them to the crimes. The justice sustem, the terrible police investigation and lost of crucial evidence back then, unfortunately makes it impossible to determine even now, who the killer was. These crimes will always remain a mystery.

I would hardly call the blood samples from the Bojangles scene "crucial evidence". That guy was likely a heroin addict who scored some smack from the truck stop and went in there to shoot up. The blood from his arm was likely due to infected track marks, which is why he kept a brace over it. His disoriented manner noticed by witnesses who saw him go into the bathroom was likely from withdrawl, as was the all the feces he left behind. Heroin users stay constipated due to the effects of the drug on the nervous system.

Um...buhahahhaahhahahahhahhahhahahahahahhahahahhahahaha

Another key piece of evidence explained by Scummy, this is better than the Ice Axe theory you yanked from Blink.

The problem with the softball girls, genius, is that they couldn't say who was there, what was said BEFORE the statement or what was said AFTER the statement. I find it odd, that they remember in detail (albeit conflicting detail) one statement but can't remember ANYTHING else about what was said, who was there or who else hear it.
