a whole bunch of questions.

1. why is it only revealed at meredith's birthday party that cloe's mum used to be meredith's family maid? at the start of the movie there was no visible recognition between cloe & meredith..and sasha, jade and yasmin had no idea, despite being cloe's oldest friends.

2. what was the point of the scene at the birthday party where the dad and little sister are sat there and she tells him he's a good dad?

3. if cloe & her mum are so poor, why does she have a scooter, a massive bedroom, a load of nice clothes, etc etc?

4. why does the little brother think he's such a ladies man? he comes across as severely pervy whenever he talks to the little sister.

5. when their own individual groups call them each to separate tables..why doesn't at least one of them invite yasmin to sit with them, or at least not abandon her? they all know exactly what they've done, but they look at her as though they feel bad and then don't talk to her for 2 years..that's not really friendship, is it?

6. why is meredith actually SO stupid that she doesn't realise she isn't the most popular girl in school? everyone blatantly hates her, no-one even pretends to like her but she still doesn't seem to notice.

7. why is it so important for there to be organised groups? and why, when the bratz decide to sit together after all that time, everyone stares at them in awe like they don't remember 2 years ago when they had other mates.

8. yes, they all choose different extra curricular shizz to do (cheerleading, football, journalism etc..) but why do they not share other classes, like maths, or history?

9. why do all their cliques (sp?) wear their uniforms all the time, but the girls don't?

10. i know they're being nice and all, but why doesn't cloe mind being the group charity case? i mean, she's not THAT poor, obviously.

Sit down, before you break another ribcage.

bumping this for you so someone will be able to answer these questions for you.

It's because the film was just an attempt with no effort to advertise the dolls.

Let's see if I can help.

1) That's the point in the movie at which that piece of information becomes relevant. Cloe's mom didn't bring her work home, nor did she bring her daughter with her to work (thus again executing the ethnic stereotype fail). Cloe's friends would be even less likely to have an idea since she herself didn't recognize Meredith at that time.

2) Positive reinforcement.

3) She has friends to buy the stuff for her. Her mom got the house in the divorce settlement. Is it really so important?

4) The little brother's aspiring to be in the "Wannabe Gangsters" clique at the high school.

5) Because the "individuals" of this movie, the Bratz, are just as cliquey (is that a word? oh well) as the rest of the school. It just so happens that they also have their own common bond, but naturally work with the sorting hat and go to their own natural places within the hierarchy.

6) The most popular girl in school is usually also the most hated. Comes with the territory.

7) It's not really that important at all, is the message behind this movie. But to properly address this question would take a whole thesis in and of itself. As for the Bratz sitting by themselves, this shouldn't really be something to draw others notice, since it could be looked at as the start of an entirely different clique not previously represented on campus, the vacuous fashion lovers. Perhaps that is why they were wide-eyed. Or perhaps they think the Bratz gang is being counter-culture.

8) They may or may not. Like most high school movies, classes are glossed over.

9) The girls do wear their uniforms. If you watch the movie carefully, there are times when the different girls are in the clique unis but other times (usually when the Bratz girls are relating to each other) when they are wearing their own personal fashions, which is actually a uniform for their own informal clique. Pretty brilliant the way they pulled this off, actually.

10) When it truly comes down to it, how many people who freeload actually mind that they're freeloading? They may feel a slight tinge of guilt from time to time, but usually the perk benefits are excellent consolation.

1. It is possible that Cloe's mom worked for Meredith when the girls were not hanging out anymore. Since this is revealed at the end of the movie, that means it is after the 2 year fast forward where the girls did not hangout.

2. It is possible that this is a reference to Skyler Shaye and Jon Voight's relationship, as he is her Godfather in real life.

3. It is possible that Cloe's mom is just having a slower income due to less customers. She could have gotten those things when her moms business was more successful, or they could have even been Christmas gifts from other family members, etc.

4. It probably has to do with impending puberty. Also, Meredith's little sister is probably only one or two years younger than him, kids go through growth spurts at different ages.

6. Most popular girls in High School movies are portrayed as hated by others. However they perceive this hate as jealousy and like to feel that others are threatened by them.

7. In the beginning the father walks up to Meredith with a book talking about how in prison they would arrange the people into groups. Perhaps doing this herself with the school gives her a sense of power and control over them.

8. Most of the time in high school movies you don't see much classroom scenes. Only the extra curricular activities were integral to the plot, thus only showing those classes.

9. The girls have a love for fashion so wearing the same thing everyday is probably unappealing, so they wear outfits that are similar to the rest of the group but not the actual uniforms.

10. The girls are close enough that one wouldn't feel like a charity case if the others helped. If your family helped you with money problems you wouldn't feel like a charity case. Plus if one of the other girls was the one with money problems, they would be more than happy to help.
