Probably My Favourite Movie

I know it is full of racist stereotypes, and corny lines, but the movie is just so funny! I know this will get alot of hate, but I just want to say that there is someone out there who appreciates the awesomeness of this movie. It is just so funny. Favourite quote?
Sasha: "Girl I brought it, nailed it, sent it to my friends kid sister, and sent it back while you were still learning the footwork"
Just so funny! Better than most!

Ha Ha Ha sarcasm. I got worried for a bit there.

reply

No, I wasn't being sarcastic. The film was meant to entertain and it did exactly that and more. I honestly enjoy watching it.

I'm embarrassed to be a human.

embarrassed towards who? the giraffes?
(or maybe you think there are aliens secretly spying on us...)

so I guess Queenkay works for the film company or has a family member in the film, i doubt that anyone who is above primary school age would like this pile of s***t!

reply

You're not the only one who like it. I thought it was girly and silly and good fun. I was entertained and that was it. It def. isn't the best film I ever saw but I don't think it's the worst. I don't understand why it got such a bad rep.

The only reason critics gave it a bad rating is because they had a preconceived notion that the movie would be an hour long commercial for Bratz, filled with what they consider "slutty" clothes (God forbid a girl expose her wrists!), so they really didn't pay attention to the content or themes of the actual movie. What's funny is that none of the clothes worn in the movie had been previously used for the dolls, and it wasn't until much later that MGA made Bratz dolls wearing clothes based on the movie. People claim that it promotes such terrible values. Like what? Friendship? Self expression? Oh the horror!

The critics just need to grow up.

reply

Those themes and values you mentioned, friendship and self expression, are nowhere in the movie. There is only the barest hint of 'values' in the film, shoved in with the grace of a sledgehammer and without any hint of originality or sincerity. I mean, what did the characters have to express? Each of them had exactly one defining trait that seperated them; not one of them had anything resembling a personality. Close your eyes and listen to their dialogue (desperately trying to keep from clawing off your own ears) and you couldn't tell any of the characters apart. The reason critics gave this a bad rating was because it is a BAD movie. In fact, bad may be to nice of a word. This is an abortion of a film, a plodding mess of insincerity and laziness, filled with inane dialogue that no one could consider clever or real, the 'message' of tolerance is paper-thin and doesn't hold up under any sort of scrutiny, the film is racist as crap and gleefully so, the acting is terrible from EVERYONE (not one person gives a performance that is better than horrendous), and the direction is completely uninspired. The film is about girls completely obsessed with their clothes and being 'fabulous'; it doesn't promote loyalty or tolerance. There's nothing people learn to tolerate about them. They're different? Well, not really, as lead Evil Girl separates them into different cliques, which doesn't lead to any idea of tolerance because the cliques aren't really at war with each other. Also, I fail to see how Evil Girl is able to do that considering the girls start off the film as freshmen and it follows them through their high school career. Did Evil Girl just take over the school on the first day and set about her plan to separate people? Then again, I'm looking for logic in this film. The film doesn't even promote friendship; the girls are hardly friends (I don't consider giggling with each other over clothes frienship) and are easily split apart, only to immediately get back together a couple years later, making the separation completely pointless. So, no, there are no values it teaches and any time it tries, it reverses on itself.

Bottom line, this film is irredemable. There is not a single positive thing in it. I defy anyone to name a single aspect that can be taken as anything other than wretched.

Like the movie and watch it over and over again. If you want to talk about bad movies, go find Cabin Fever thats a pile of *beep*

Your opinion was useless in 2011 and it's useless now.

reply

I agree it was an awesome movie! It was a plot showing that no matter what friends always stay together. And mind you that i'm a 16 yr old admitting this and i also own the movie

@QueenKay Obvious troll is obvious.
This is a terrible movie. It belongs on the Bottom 100.

Sincerely, yahmez the mad.

This is a great movie. A really great example of how to NOT make a movie.

HEY I KNOW! Let's add a deaf kid and make it central to his role but his deafness absolutely never relevant or portrayed!

idk if you're being serious or not but as a typical predictable chick flick lover i liked this movie, it's not up there with some of the others but i thought it was great, overly cheesy and unrealistic but very feel good, which was the whole aim of the movie.
