I don't even know where to start, so let me put this movie in two words..."It Sucks".

*spoiler alert*

1. Where were all the other students that were supposed to reside in the dorm, I mean why did we only see six out of dozens...?

2. Once the two escape from the asylum where did they end up..? I thought the abandoned building was on campus, so why did they end up in the middle of the country? Yeah sure they ran through the woods, but this dorm was in the middle of a college campus!

3. Macky the janitor. Why did he stay for twenty years when he knew this Dr. was still roaming the halls??? Also, why did it take the Dr. twenty years to go after Macky. You would have thought that after twenty years they would have encountered each other before then.

4. when the cops closed the dorm for the investigation why did the blond girl walk in at the end..? Plus where the heck were all the other students..?

*spoiler alert*

1: They showed only those six cause they were the only ones that went through something that traumatized them as a kid

2: The two didn't escape, they died and were found in the basement close to the end of the movie.

3: Macky the janitor did leave but came back, he knew the Dr dude would still get him

4: I don't know where the other students were.

Dude where the *beep* were you when you supposedly saw this movie?!

I saw the same movie as you but I saw the two kill the doctor in the woods and escape death, they did not die.

The other students were not around because the doctor had altered reality putting these people in a kind of twilight zone where he lived and thus could kill them easily(much the same as Nightmare on elm street).

The janitor was hoping to get revenge for what the doctor had done to him that is why he returned.

Also, the doctor had been there for years waiting for some traumatized students to come along and bring him back to "life" so he could kill again, a case of slightly strange attracting very strange.

Can't really answer the other questions other than #2 for you

Winthrop University (aka Richard Miller in the movie) is a very small campus pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so if there was a "tunnel" that connected tillman {aka the basement) to a factory and then they ran for a while, it is pretty likely that they could have ended up in the woods. =]

It's cheesy crappy fun. It has a ton of plot holes and stuff but what do expect. rofl

reply

Um. Winthrop's in the middle of suburbia in Rock Hill. There's really nothing close to country unless you count the kind of woodsy area near the lake, but even then, that's like a mile away from campus.

^ Yeah, doesn't sound good...

reply

i liked the movie... and i agree with fceurich39, sarah roemer was excelent, the other totally sucked

reply

Agreed. For some reason I actually spent money to rent this god awful piece of crap. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, I don't know. Even for all of you saying the acting was good from whatever her name was, nothing could save this movie. And I enjoy cheesy and LOVE horror. This was just...I don't even have the words.

Most yeti slaps prove to be fatal.

oops sorry

The film was much better then other films of it's genre. Not a bad film.

This movie is the biggest piece of crap I've watched in a long time...I couldn't get past the ridiculous String kid and that annoying prototypical college boy that wouldn't shut up.

Jack: "The other people that are on this plane...what's going to happen to them?" Ben: "Who cares?"

I'm never sure why people watch B horror movies and expect them to be anything but that. You just got to enjoy them for what they are, otherwise you'll be disappointed. I always rate horror movies a little higher than most people, not just cuz I love 'em, but because everyone else seems to hold them to the same standards as every other genre. You can't, really. I guess the same could be said of action movies, but I'm not such a fan of those, so I don't go out of my way to watch them.

We may not enjoy living together, but dying together isn't going to solve anything.

Because if you're going to be a b movie, be a b movie. This movie starts of pretty good. I'd say 2/3 of the movie is cool. I liked the nightmare on elm street rip off.

This movie falls apart in the 3rd act. You can tell the writer and director had no idea where to go. Why does the blond girl show up? Because they realized that she was in the movie. She actually should have died earlier in the movie and they forgot. Why did Mackey become an important character only in the third act, because they wrote themselves into a whole and had no idea how to write them out without a plot device.

The movie continues to get crazy. A single tunnel leads to a ghetto looking factory and then al lof a sudden woods for miles and miles.

This is a college campus and there are only six students in the whole building. We don't even see extras in this movie.

Just as they forgot about the blond they forgot about the resident director who never showed up again, nor did any of the cops despite hte fact that the building was being investigated and searched for the missing students.

All this just brings attention to the logic of the origin of the character. All the new technology, wiring, furniture and rebuilding and the ghost doctor never showed. Somehow mackey has been working in the building for years, but has never seen the doctor and , they just opened that building this year.

You can see that they created a cool villian (despite the corny acting) and had no idea how it worked. Its a ghost, but it could'nt get through a steel door (yet it can walk through others including the security door). Its a ghost but material things can effect it.

Theres b movies and just plain frustration and this was plain frustrating because with another rewrite it could have been pretty good.
