Not a real competition...

above is a link I found about one of the judges that did the chicken wing competition. He said ...

Bacorn noted that he and the other judge, Dave Botticelli, general manager of Duff's restaurant, were egged on by the show's producer to choose a certain chicken wing.

It sounds like most reality shows. The producers have their own ideas about who they want to win and "egg the judges on" I wonder if its even really a surprise or they just tell the competetors to act surprised.

Regardless, I still enjoy the show. I like hearing about the places and want to visit a lot of them. I also enjoy seeing bobby's take on the recipes. I have tried some of the recipes and they were good. oh well..

well no, its not really a competition. They have two judges informally pick Bobby or the other guy. They don't win anything, it doesn't even matter who they pick. Everyone claps and says nice things about the other cook. It's pretty much just a feel good food show. It's not even a reality show. It's a cooking show. So don't try to complicate it.

reply

Umm not trying to complicated it. They represent themselves like it's a competition, and I'm just saying it's not. That's pretty straight forward and uncomplicated. I still enjoy the show, but I'm just saying the recipe that wins isn't necessarily the best. Some of us like to get recipes from the show, so we like to know.

If there was any Throwdown he should have won it was this one. I can't imagine him making something that was too spicy without balancing it out with something else.

It isn't supposed to be a real competition. It's supposed to be a fun way to showcase some of the cooks and eateries across America.

Then why have judges?

reply

I like chicken wings.
