Unexpected

I went into this movie not expecting much...

I was *blown* away! I have a natural soft spot for animals (which is why I watched this at all) and expected a family film about a dog. I was blindsided by the presentation of the story of "Red Dog" and was unexpectedly moved by Red, especially when he was searching for John and his inevitable death.

I just hope this film receives the acclaim it deserves - it is far better than Shiloh or numerous other animal flicks produced by American studios. I rated it a 10/10, which is unheard of for me - CGI aside. (It was only 10 seconds or so... I can look past that for such a moving film.)
