How many films make you laugh so hard you practically piss in your pants and then cry so hard you feel like you're going to hemorrhage? Kudos to the director, screenwriter, cinematographer and wonderful actors, and last but certainly not least, the amazing pup (or pups) who played Red Dog. This film should have been nominated for best foreign film, not sure what happened there but it's really that good.

There are certain films that operate on a level above the mechanics of dialogue and acting and this is one of them. There are certain scenes from those films that stay in my memory always because they transcend the medium that delivers them. Some scenes from Red Dog are like that, for me. Let's put it this way, - the movie was a lot more than a dog story for me.
