If it's not Scottish, it's crap! If you listen to the Director's Commentary, you will hear Conrad explain that he had her do a Scottish accent exactly because it made no sense for her to have a Scottish accent. He also made up the Monster Face doctor language bit (which he later cut). Apparantly, he likes to put absurd things in his movies, which hit or miss (e.g. tap dancing shoes to work. "Richard Wehlner" edited into a motivational speaking tape by a motivational speaker who lets you know that he doesn't pay for the licensing of music). This movie had classic comedy moments, but if you are trying to look for the realism in everything, you are going to miss the comedy.
