has anyone seen this?

well?

reply

I haven't, but I really want to see it, along with the other Ghibli Museum shorts. But I guess the only way to see them is to visit the Ghibli Museum. Which isn't easy because I live in the Netherlands and the museum is in Japan.

Anyway, here's hoping that this and the other ones will one day be released on DVD in the U.S. and Europe. But I'm not really counting on a DVD release in the near future. I guess we'll just have to wait.

*sigh*

reply

No. I'm hoping that after Miyazaki dies, they'll release it in a sort of documentary feature.

miyazaki has said they can release it after he dies - I can't find where I saw that quote though, might be nausicaa.net

reply

That makes sense. It'll be one of the only good things about his death. That and the fact that they'll probably show all his movies on a ton of different channels.

I'm hoping that as he gets older he'll relent

reply

Nah. I don't think he wants to release it, but he doesn't want to hold it back forever either.

--why would you ever hope anything about Miyazaki's death....that would be a terrible thing!

reply

I don't want him to die, but *when* he does, I hope they release this. Seriously, when he dies, I'm going to be all messed up for... months. Studio Ghibli won't be able to function without him. He's the master behind all these great movies I've come to know, think about every day, and watch ALL the time.

I saw it!!! Woo

Went to the Ghibli Museum yesterday. I didn't even know which short I was going to see, but was lucky enough to be able to see it.

It is a pseudo sequel to My Neighbor Totoro but is way more insane and cute, but still very moving and sweet. If you loved Catbus prepare yourself for hundreds of em, all shapes and sizes.

reply

Just got back from the Ghibli museum and it was playing today. It was freaking fantastic.

reply

I wish this would get a DVD release (I know, it's only 13 minutes long) instead of the very disappointing Ponyo.

reply

I would really like to.

Call me Ishmael.

reply

Not really, but I eagerly want to see it. Mei is one of the most charismitic anime characters I've ever seen. She's so funny, clumsy and curious and I just think she's downright cute.

I saw it today at the Ghibli museum, and it was beautiful like all his other works. I love all the catbuses (catbusi? lol).

It's been cammed, just waiting for subs

I saw this a few years back when I was vacationing in Tokyo. It was pretty adorable.
