I know, I've talked about it a few times, but so many choose to kill Francis in Blood Brothers. Why so many against killing Derrick? don't get me wrong, Francis was a mjor dick. He blackmailed Niko to no end, but Derrick was a bum and a junkie. He was also a snitch.

Francis was a punk and heartless f@ggot who made it so obvious he was a dirtbag, always hiding behind his badge claiming to be a hero. Yet he was cold enough to ask Niko to actually do a hit on his own brother, his own flesh and blood all because he was paranoid Derrick would talk to some journalist. Derrick may have ratted on Aiden and Bucky in his younger days, but I got a doubt he'd do that to his own blood. Plus, not trying to make an excuse for the guy, but maybe he was so stoned on heroin he ratted on them then and forgot up until they started spreading the word, I don't know. All I know is I hated Francis.

Francis is a complete fvcking ass hole. Derrick was pretty cool. One of them has to die to complete that mission and continue the game, so it should be Francis. It's that simple, and you suck for thinking otherwise.

Derrick may have had a past of snitching on partners and used drugs, but at least he didn't threaten to put you in prison everytime you turn around, Francis was the biggest disgrace ever to the police department. People dislike cops enough. With that guy around every cop would get a dirty look due to how much worse a reputation Francis gave them. *beep* him, I killed him this time around I played that mission.

shareFrancis just pissed me off in the general throughout the entire game. But the minute he said to Nico something like, "**** you. You're gonna put Derrick down, or I will throw your ass in jail for life" just pissed me off so much, i wanted to lead-**** his sorry ass. At least Derrick didn't pretend to be a good person.
shareIf I'm honest I despised both Francis and Derrick. I sort of wish you could have killed both of them.
I think I prefer to kill Derrick because he was a snitch and my memory is quite hazy but wasn't Derrick going to tell the journalist about what the other MacReary brothers had done ? if so then he could have not only landed Francis in trouble but also his other brothers.
So in the end I choose Derrick but as I said I really hated both of them and I'd have no problem eliminating Francis.

I guess I somehow gloss over Derrick's snitchery in light of Francis' complete and utter hypocrisy and constant threats. Derrick seems like he genuinely likes Niko. Francis is a total dick to him. It honestly never even occurred to me to kill Derrick, killing Francis feels like the only option for me.
EDIT: Thought of course I did kill Derrick once just to see how the game went after that. Felt bad, man. =(

When I first played the game I quickly chose Francis but the more I play it the more I detest the both of them.
It just depends who I'm in the mood for killing when I have to choose.

shareFrancis is definitely my choice. He's a corrupt cop who basically orders Niko to take out two innocent people who were just going to expose his corruption. By killing Francis, it's basically avenging them in my opinion. Since Niko was forced to take them out. I didn't care for Derrick either, but his drug addiction was going to be his demise anyway. Since he's dead according to Packie in GTA V. So I felt it was better to let him live and suffer with his addiction. Similar to Darko. Letting Francis live would allow him to continue being corrupt.
