Weapon Leveling Exploit

So I discovered this tonight - figured I'd share it with the boards. Much has been said about this game's linearity. As an old-school FF fan (I remember standing in line to buy FF3 (6, I think, in Japan) and still consider it to be one of, if not the greatest game of all time), I'm actually surprisingly fond of FF13 so far. My one problem though has been the inability to grind so far (I'm in Palumporum at the moment).

Well... I've found a little secret... and I figured I'd share it with you.

I'm sorry... but it's late, and I've been playing all day, and I'm not sure what chapter I'm in. I'll say that I'm in Palumporum, in Hope's dad's house. The Sanctum have just stormed in. Whatever chapter that part is in... that's the chapter I'm playing.

Anyway - so here's the exploit:

Two groups of soldiers constantly respawn in the room. All you need to do is run in a circle through the map, and they'll automatically come back. The great part is that one of the more frequent drops is an "incentive card" which you can sell for 2500 gil. Take those gil, but yourself some components, and level the living hell out of your weapons and accessories. I wound up getting Lightening's sword from lvl 2 up to lvl 11 in a little over 30 minutes. It's a great way to farm money, xp and cp.

Have fun!

I hadn't attempted farming at that stage, but those Incentive Chips are great drops. Have you levelled many weapons? I spent most of my money and components on Levelling up Lightning's Gladius sword to a maxed out Helter-Skelter,don't know what changes it to the next form. Other than that,I maxed out Vanille's Belladonna Wand, and am currently saving for it's Catalyst, and gave a couple levels to a Snow and Sazh weapon. I think I bruised a testicle capturing that last pawn!PSN I.D:Lor20 Gamertag:Nero Faraday

There is an even better stage later on for farming CP and Gils, its on chapter 9. You will receive 3-4 times more CP and theres an abundance of incentive chips.

I just came across the exploit in Hope's dads house and actually came to post on it and see if there where any others. My only problem it seems is I have been running in that circle for a good 1 hr plus and only came across 6 chips and no cash. Which still can be sold for a decent chunk of cash but still I had hoped by now I wouldve got more. I have maxed out my Paradigms to this point. Think you might to let us know where this other exploit is Bronxe. Just curious.

The next exploit is on chapter 9, and you will definitely be reaping more CP and incentive chips. Without spoiling too much for you, on chapter 9 you will start off outside then move inside about 10 minutes into the chapter. You will know when get there.

wen it comes to buying loot just only buy stuff like STURDY BONES, BESTIAL CLAW
something that sounds like a animal left overs yea
and using 3 diff ones each containing 14 a piece, each time u use a different look u should c ur bonus lvl going up, 3 is the max and thats wer i use 99x bomb cores which at mission 7. usually 300-350 of these and ur wpn is maxed out

There is a better place to get more CP and incentive chips which is on Chapter 9 on the airship. Go to Eternal Berths and Crew Corridors areas and defeat every group of enemies then go back (enemies can respawn) and defeat more enemies then come back. I've spent 5 or 6 hours on this area and managed to upgrade five or six weapons.

For example:
Lightning's weapon, Blazefire Saber, are now upgraded to Flameburge and the level is 43 (took me an hour and half to upgrade that far).

Hope's weapon, Hawkeye, is now upgraded to Eagletalon, and the level is 36 which took me over an hour to upgrade that far.

Fang's weapon, Bladed Lance, is now upgraded to Glaive and the level is 35.

I even upgraded weapons for Vanille, Snow, and Sazh which took me plus 2 hours.

Also, I upgraded most of the accessories.

It will take alot of time. Oh, I forgot...

You have to get 33 incentive chips so after you get 33 of them, buy 99 crankshafts then upgrade one of your weapons. Before you upgrade a weapon, make sure it's on 3x bonus. Get 36 sturdy bones, barbed tail, or vibrant ooze. (or you can buy 36 for three of them, up to you.) Then you can use 99 crankshafts on one of them which has the maximum up to 75,000 exp (can upgrade up to 10 to 15 levels each). It'll take time so you need to be patient.

If you have the strategy guide, read 'Power Tip' for location where you can farm CP and spoils for weapon upgrade. I'm on the chapter 11 right now and I'm going to fight powerful enemies to farm many CP. It's going to be difficult but it's worth a try.

do u happen to know what weapon for each character is recommended for the final wpn?

Well, I have my own team and I upgraded each weapons for them. It went like this:

My team:
Lightning - Blazefire Saber (Now Omega Weapon) (She's good at balance between magic and physical strength, aka Ravager is good, but her special skill, Army of One, works really well in some battles, which is in her commando role)
Fang - Taming Pole (now Kain's Lance) (because she's good at strength)
Hope - Hawkeye (now Nue) (He has some powerful magics he's pretty useful at)

Other team:
Vanille - Both Pearlwing Staff and Belladona Wand are good for her (She's well at debuffs and magic, especially healing)

I don't know about Sazh's and Snow's weapons, because I haven't upgraded any of their weapons, but according to this guidebook for FFXIII, Rigels is good for Sazh and Sacrificial Circle is good for Snow.

Also, I'm working on buying one of the weapons in weapon shop for Fang, called Dragoon Lance, which is strength only weapon and it's a perfect weapon for her, imo, because it has the highest strength than any of the weapons she has. It cost 230,000 gils!

Well, I'm not good at recommendation because you might not like what I do or what I have on my characters.

Edit: I just realized that I already have Dragoon Lance and I already maxed Fang's ultimate weapon, so I'm basically unstoppable. But still gonna work on other two now. It's easier that way. I'm about 135 hours into the game, and no doubt I'd be able to finish everything by 160 or 170 hours, depending on how fast I get those items for my weapons. If I max out all three weapons, I'd be able to take down powerful foes little easily (still gonna watch their HP) and drop the items that can give you either Trapezohedron and Platinum Ignot (Gives you 150,000 gills if you sell it) faster than before.

I changed my car horn sound into shotgun sound so people would move out of the way much faster
