Having a rough go in Chapter 12
Any advice?
shareMade it to the Rosch(?) battle but that's it. He kept going faster & faster and his haste doesn't go away at all, really *beep* annoying. After about 30 min fighting he killed me and that was the last time I'm ever gonna play this game. Even normal enemies were nearly impossible to kill and that really ruined the game for me, of course there should be a challange but this was just ridiculous. First FF I'm not gonna finish...but to answer your question, ethersol & other it's kind helps a bunch, otherwise I dunno, hope you'll do better than me =)

You must've been incredibly underleveled. Either that or you don't know how to strategize your battles. Also goes to prove that not everything you do is "hit auto-battle".
I've beat the game twice and still haven't lost at that fight even though it is difficult, but certainly manageable and very much possible to beat in your first try.
Like what Lococo000 said, it's possible you're either underleveled or didn't make a good strategy. You should look it up for help and tips, and set the battle system prior to the boss battle, and also, you need to keep leveling up until you're strong enough to beat the boss. Also, I think you're allowed to upgrade the weapons, so you better work on those, too. I remember dying in that battle twice, but I didn't give up. I learned my lesson and went on different route or strategy to make it work, and set a right paradigm.
I changed my car horn sound into shotgun sound so people would move out of the way much faster
