Vayne of FFXII was by far the most bland main ff villain ever!

Mickie James & Daffney=Greatest Dream Diva Tag Team ever!

Vayne was soooo bland and so not scarey. I agree that Barthandalus didn't get to make much of an impression because we didn't get to see him much. But yea his reasons for being evil were interesting..

FINE! STAY AT THE CAMP YOU BASTARD!!! NO XP FOR YOU!.

Certainly, as I cannot really remember who the villain was... except for that one Sephiroth-like guy that gets shot a couple dozen times then comes back with no real explanation other than perhaps "I got better."

Kefka is the only really interesting villain Final Fantasy has ever had.

"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"

I suppose Barthandelus wasn't that memorable, but his plan was pretty messed up right from the start.

Barthandelus wins this hands down for me
there was no real feeling of a bad guy in this one imo,
at least with most FF games they have a presence

reply

No, they really don't. You need to play the series more unless you're one of those huge Final Fantasy fans that have only played 7-13.

"Barty", as I call him, was supposed to be bland. He is supposed to lack human emotionality and affective processes. A reflection of this difference in emotionality is how he pretty much wants to die, see the world end along with him, and meet his "Maker". Does that sound like your average, emotionally-healthy human? It should not, since he is supposed to have different affective processes motivating him and driving his behaviour.

Yes, he is bland, but he is also supposed to be that way in order to stay true to the story. He is cold, calculating, and emotionally different from most humans.
