I know this had better acting but I enjoyed TGND better and you could feel for the characters whether it was anger or sadness. I had a few tears and angry when Sylvia in TGND died or was being tortured, in this when I was like "Yeah it's sad" but I had no tears.

I love this movie, much better in so many ways and waaay more accurate. This one is based on court transcripts TGND was based on a book that was INSPIRED by Sylvia's story. I didn't like the idea of children raping little girls. That's just sick and the story didn't really need. Only done for shock value.

It definitely had me in a rage against that *beep* of a mother, and feeling despair for Meg, so I can't say that it was poorly made, but I only watched the entire movie as I somehow felt I owed it to Sylvia's memory; I didn't realize at the time how much the torture was ramped up and sexualized vs what happened in the actual case. (This is certainly not to downplay Sylvia's suffering.)
