This made me angry

This program made me very angry and upset. To finally see reality and the true horrors of warfare which this supposed "liberal media" won't show is not only disturbing but sad as well.

What was this President thinking? Does he see the natural horrors of Iraq and the massive devistation this campaign has caused? I don't get it.

I don't really see the so called "liberal media". I see mostly a conservative media. Liberal media is a myth generated by the hardcore right.

As for Baghdad ER, I've seen parts of it and yes it really horrible what's going on over there. This war is ruining the lives of thousands of American Soldiers and Iraqi civilians. The cost for this war is just not worth it.

"You can't spell conservative without 'con'."

Yes this is very hard to watch, but what were you expecting? This is what war is. This is what war has always been and always will be. In fact this is probably tame compared to say, WW2, even though people like to glorify that war. Now, there is tecnology and the means for the people who arent living it to see what is happening. I am supprised to hear that people saw something they werent expecting when they watched this film. I knew what I was going to see. I mean, what do you think happens when an artillery shell is detonated 5 feet from someone? They get torn appart...

Yes, war destroys lives... But, IMO (i know many dont agree) I think the right thing for the long term is being done right now. This war, unlike the unpopular vietnam does have a point to it. In fact I think it has many points. Removing Saddam from power, making sure oil is still sold in Dollars, fighting terrorism(ill get into that since people dont agree with this...), having a heavy military presence in an unstable part of the world, and just plane setting up people to have some kind of freedom in the future.
Did Iraq have anything to do with 9-11? Not directly no. But, does that mean they didnt harbor terrorists? I'd say they probably did... Anyway, as far as the present state of the war goes, most of these insurgents arent even Iraqi. They are extremists. People with no state or no country. They wouldnt tell you they are fighting for Iraq but for the middle east all together. Terrorists dont see things as different countrys and different states like we do. So, the way I see it, what better place to take the fight to terrorism than right in the heart of it all? right in messopotamia(sp?). Think about it, you are a young idiot jihadist looking to kill infidels. How are you going to do it? Go to america, where you can barely move if you even get into the country? Or do you take the short trip to Iraq and join up with some other idiots? See what I am getting at here? The way I see it we are fighting terrorism. Right in their back yard....

wow, this has turned into quite a rant.

You think WW2 didnt destroy 100's of thousands of lives? probably millions of lives? It did. But, I think that most would agree that it was worth the sacrafice.

The question is, will we man up and stay the course and make this sacrafice worth it? Will Iraq help take control of their own future? This is all up in the air right now. But, we are headed in the right direction IMO.

anyway, im done ranting... didnt mean for it to be such a long thing just started rolling...

Thank you for your cogent response. It takes a thick skin to stand up for America, US military personnel, and the President on IMDB because of the foaming at the mouth Bush-hating, US-hating rabble that permeate this board.

I agree with you 100%. Your rant was on-target and I for one am grateful to see it here.

Bulls**t. What terrorists was Iraq harboring? Do you have facts or evidence to back up these claims? Because the Senate Committe investigating pre-war intelligence did not find any credible evidence that Iraq was harboring any anti-American terrorist groups. The only terrorists in Iraq are the ones we created by invading.

And you keep comparing Iraq to WWII as if they are in any way similar. WWII was a NECESSARY war. Germany declared war on us first. What did Iraq do to us before we invaded? Oh yeah, NOTHING. They posed no threat to us and there were no terrorists there. So why did we invade again? Oh yeah, WMDs. How'd that turn out?

And sure, maybe the war would have been worth it if we could have made life better for the Iraqis. But life is not better for the Iraqis, they are just being murdered by different people than they were under Saddam, that's all. They still live in fear, but now they fear sectarian death squads and suicide bombers instead of Saddam's police. It's the same s**t wrapped up in a new package, and it cost us 3000 dead and $400 billion to accomplish.
