hipster/indie piece of *beep*

this movie is sooo terrible and infuriating... it makes my head hurt.

Haha. I watched it with my brother's "hipster" girlfriend. But what isn't hipster/indie now? It's open season on anything alternative to become mainstream.

reply

This movie may be an indie, but it is not a "hipster" film. Far from it.

lol. Have you ever even seen a hipster? I'm guessing not.

First off, you say "hipster" like it's a bad thing. Hipster is just a modern phrase to try to label anybody who values nonconformity, nostalgia or anything alternative. Second, I would hardly call this film an indie or "hipster" film. It's extremely popular because it has Ellen Page in it, and the story it tells, albeit being presented in a very weird way, is a story so mainstream that almost anybody can relate to it. It's just the story of a mentally troubled teenager searching for her brother. I wasn't aware that this was some kind of pretentious art film or something. You want a "hipster" film, check out the 2010 film Submarine or one of those Wes Anderson films.
