There is a book with this same title, and the characters have all the same names, except in the book, the main character is Lara and on the show, the name is Lauren. Does anyone know if they plan to follow the same storylines in the book? Will Lauren be a counselor? I'd love to hear from anyone who might know.

There were some things that were the same, such as wanting to buy clothes that fit and such, but in the book, they have a dog and they don't on the show. Also, the main character wasn't as mean as she is in the book.

Why is it sad that they are following the book. Obviously the author of the book sold the right to the producers to made a sitcom out of his/her book. 95% of movies are from books, not from original screen plays.

There's a book and a sequel by Risa Green. If you like the show, you will like the books. I think they are worth it!
