Blu Ray And/Or HD?

Does anyone know if the show has ever been released or broadcast in HD?
I remember the show with such fondness and wish to re-watch it albeit in high def.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what the big deal is with Blue Ray and HD. I just rewatched the series on my DVD set on a 39" TV and it was great.
