girl power?

I have just watched this film and quite enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of 'I Spit On Your Grave', another 'revenge' film that I enjoyed.

My problem with this though, is that I thought it was annoying how throughout the movie the girl did literally everything. All the killings, creating all the plans and getting them out alive while the guy literally just sat there with a broken leg and did nothing, left the light on in the marijuana shed; he was an 'inconvenience'.

My personal opinion on this film is that although it is a horror/thriller film, the sub genre is clearly feminism. This really annoyed me actually watching this. Men were portrayed as useless and vile in this film whereas the crazy bitch is the hero. She was also incredibly annoying.

I am a man and not sexist at all, but this just bugged me. I felt as the credits were rolling it was more a statement for women than just a film.

Did anybody else share this view?

Good point! I agree to some extent, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this over the top, thrill ride of a film, although admittedly annoying at times!

BTW, if you thought this film was annoyingly girl power, stay the hell away from the TV series "Top of the Lake". It's even more ham-fistedly anti man than this!
