I liked it a lot. I thought that the personal story at the end went into so much depth that the historical context was lost. Personally, I would have liked to have seen more about the events of 27 May. But I think I'm being picky, it was an outstanding film.

I loved this movie! What made it interesting was that the theatre was mostly filled with people in their late teens-early 20's and people in their 40's, who were actually, at the time, in their late teens and early 20's. My dad, who went with me, told me that he actually had to go to college a year after this incident and the campus was always under tension. The personal stories, though, really got to me because it really helped the history part become real- it made me not just sympathize these protesters, but rather helped me empathize with them.

The last line really makes me cry every time I think about it. This movie is a good medium to help later generations to remember the Gwangju massacre as a real event, a real tragedy, then just something to read about in a textbook.
