Renee Zellweger looks like a troll in this movie. Made me cringe just looking at her.

WHAT???? nicole is boney as a pole

theres a difference between cheek bones and cheek fat OPEN YO EYES

reply

He didn't say Nicole was puffy; he said Renee looked like Nicole if Nicole were puffy. No inconsistency there.

reply

I really enjoyed the film, but I could see how some people could see the portrayal of women as offensive. Perhaps ugly Zellweger was intentional because her character's morals were also ugly.

reply

Um..she looks like a troll in every movie.

reply

NONSENSE, she has a cute little face, all my friends agree you guys are just pathetic.

reply

She went a little too heavy on the botox injections around her mouth.

reply

wow, why are you people so cruel?

reply

I totally agree...tooooo much botox..Her face didn't even move, eck!

reply

Renee Zellweger is ugly as sin. her face is squinted up all the time. its disgusting!

reply

Just finished watching this movie and was surprised at how truly awful she looked. The hair color was bad and her face or head seemed too big for her skinny body. Actually her face looked bad. Maybe too much weight gain for certain movies and then weight loss, don't know for sure. Thought she was "cute" in Jerry McGuire but have never thought she was pretty or even sexy.

Except for her, I loved this movie. A great western and Ed Harris did a good directing job.

reply

Totally agree. Zellweger looks like a troll in every movie. She's especially homely in Bridget Jones's Diary 1 & 2. Don't know why she's ever cast as a pretty lady when she's clearly not--not by today's standards, and not by 19th century standards.

reply

She looked good in Bridget Jones 1. Every woman doesn't need to be a skel to be attractive.

reply

no, really she's disgusting in every way. i could barely look at her.

I wouldn't call it "troll", but wouldn't call her pretty either.

Please. Accept the Mystery.

There's no doubt about it. She did not look good in this movie at all. I used to think she was kind of cute, but like others, when she first appeared in the movie, I laughed.

Tiger claw is a fan of Dancing with the Stars. He obviously has taste.

Heh.

reply

She looks pretty damn good for 39 years old as far as I am concerned.

It's always amazing to me how indifferent people act towards a celeb with features that would normally be considered attractive if you were, for instance, to pick her up at the local bar. And we wonder why our culture is preoccupied with spending thousands of dollars for facelifts and liposuction. We can't even acknowledge that freakin' Renee Zellweger is attractive.

**** possible spoiler ****

It appears both lead women were not so great looking, but with no other women around, well, who cared... Maybe that was the premise of their appearance; it was, after all, a tough life. I was expecting a Sister Sara moment re Zellweger's character, a la 2 Mules for Sister Sara.

reply

I'd take Cher at 65 over Renee at 39. :)

How could you say she looks like a troll? I'd call it more of an ogre. Never been cute, never will be. She'll only get uglier as she gets older (exponentially, if she gets work done).

reply

I don't like to judge people on looks, who the he'll am I to judge but her face looked expressionless. Except when she frequently broke out a very strange grin that made her look like a maniac.

reply

Hello? Wake up! We're living in the 21st century. Why don't I hear you critisising the looks of the male actors? Women aren't here for the gratification of men, you Neanderthals! I have some breaking news, guys, women are people too. Judge the actors on the screen by their ability and what they bring to the role, not on whether you would try to pick them up in a bar.

reply

Right on, Desrio.

reply

Hi Samantha.
Thanks for your support. I joined this site under the impression that it would be filled with people excersising their critical faculties and entering into reasoned discussion. Instead, I find an over-abundance of neanderthals using this site to critisise women who are, in all probability out of their league, and using it as a forum to spout bigotry, misogeny and predudice. Time to get things back on track!

reply

Ah, Desrio, I admire your optimistic expectations, but these boards are, after all, chat boards for a virtual cocktail party. And some chat is just classier than others. All one can do is move along, change the subject, or have another virtual drink.

But now and then there are a few good conversations. Keep visiting. And contribute your own thoughts from time to time. No point in giving the party over to the people you would never invite if you were giving it.

I have similar complaints about male actors who are overdoing it on the plastic surgery. This standard for totally creaseless faces is ridiculous. It makes people look freakish.

reply

You mean like Kenny Rogers, Burt Reynolds, and William Shatner?
