Everett was clearly in love in Virgil

The way Everett acted around Virgil was like he had deep feelings for him.

Especially in the scene where Virgil unprovokedly beat the coachman in the saloon Everett holds and touches Virgil in a sensitive tenderly way.

I don't think he was gay, just that he loved Virgil. The senorita prostitute was more of a sex buddy he trusted.

Virgil seemed to know that Everett had these feelings since they never spoke about women for Everett's behalf but saw the relationship just as friendship.

That's a big reason for the ending there Everett leaves Virgil and the small town.

Deep feelings? Yes

In love? No.

Trusted him. Yes

Trust is so much more important than love.

It's called bromance. Try it. It's nice.

It reminded me of Frodo and Sam Gamgee, they trusted each other, survived a lot of danger together and had a very long friendship

Like Sam, Everette spent most of time supporting and looking out for his friend

reply

It used to be called close friendship. Now people snicker about it.
