Beck's lies are on par with the Simpsons episode 'Homer Bad Man'!

Beck is becoming the master of edit and splice lies. Beck's techniques can readily be seen in the Simpsons episode "Homer Bad Man!"

"The Simpsons" Homer Badman (1994)

"Rock Bottom" news is no worse than Beck.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer_Badman
After his attempt to grab a gummy candy off of the seat of a young woman's pants is mistaken for sexual harassment, Homer becomes public enemy number one.

Homer tries to explain his actions, but the crowd is not interested in his side of the story and continually harasses Homer. "Rock Bottom", a tabloid news show, wants to interview him about his predicament and Homer immediately agrees to be interviewed. However, the interview is heavily (and poorly) edited into a totally inaccurate segment where Homer is portrayed as a sexual pervert.

Homer is interviewed on-camera by Godfrey Jones.

Homer: Ehh, someone had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she
was sitting on the gummi Venus, so I grabbed it off her. Oh,
just thinking about that sweet, sweet candy...[moans lustfully] I
just wish I had another one right now. But the most important
thing is --
Jones: That was really great Mr. Simpson. We got everything we need.
Homer: OK. Say, can you introduce me to the Sasquatch? I like his
style.

Homer and the rest of his family watch the report that night on "Rock
Bottom".

Homer: Somebody had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she was
sitting on [splice] her sweet [splice] can. [splice] -- o I grab
her -- [splice] sweet can. [splice] Oh, just thinking about
[splice] her [splice] can [splice] I just wish I had he --
[splice] sweet [splice] sweet [splice] s-s-sweet [splice] can.
Jones: So, Mr. Simpson: you admit you grabbed her can. What do you have
to say in your defense?
Homer: [looking lustful in a clearly-paused VCR shot]
Jones: Mr. Simpson, your silence will only incriminate you further.
[paused shot of Homer grows larger]
No, Mr. Simpson, don't take your anger out on me. Get back! Get
back! Mist -- Mr. Simpson -- nooo!
Man: [quickly] Dramatization -- may not have happened.

Glenn Beck's Witch Hunt Of The Day Deceptively Edits Obama's Remarks About Constitution To Suggest He Doesn't Like It

Glenn is using the same editing trick as the cartoon newsman.

Beck omits issues about slavery, from his version of the truth.

The original Constitution, as well as -- as well as the Civil War amendments, but I think it is an imperfect document, and I think it is a document that reflects some deep flaws in American culture -- the colonial culture nascent at that time. African-Americans were not -- first of all, they weren't African-Americans. The Africans at the time were not considered as part of the polity that was of concern to the framers. I think that, as [program co-panelist] Richard [John] said, it was a nagging problem in the same way that, these days, we might think of environmental issues or some other problem that, where you have to balance, you know, cost-benefits, as opposed to seeing it as a moral problem involving persons of moral worth. And, in that sense, I think we can say that the Constitution reflected a enormous blind spot in this culture that carries on until this day, and that the framers had that same blind spot. I don't think the two views are contradictory to say that it was a remarkable political document that paved the way for where we are now, and to say that it also reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day.

View/listen to Beck's edited version. What happened to SLAVERY? There is no mention of that "peculiar institution".

Open up a second window for Beck's video. Read it and listen to it. Don't scroll onto the spoilers.

It is the uppermost video. Click on that one.

Beck is lying about Obama hating the Constitution, but there is also a secret army. What secret army, is Beck referring too? I guess it is supposed to help Obama get rid of the Constitution. lol

Beck claims Obama's "civilian national security force" is "what Hitler did with the SS," "what Saddam Hussein" did
(That is a powerful charge. I desperately want to see Beck's proof, of this Nazi inspired army!)

"We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we're going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set.

"We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We'll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer."

Obviously Obama was not talking about a military force. He was talking about AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps, the USA Freedom Corps (a Bush initiative), and the Foreign Service. Just as obviously, Beck knew the complete quote but chose to play only the bit of it that he could frame as scary. This could not be more dishonest if Beck just declared that Obama was the Queen of England. And this was not an incidental segment, Beck devoted the whole hour to this fabrication even though he knew it was a lie.

When I think of Beck, I keep thinking of the "clearly-paused VCR shot" on the Simpsons. LMAO

Actually, I'd say Beck's lies are more on the order of Bush's lies about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Watching the Simpson's is fun; listening to Bush and Beck can get people killed.
