thats your opinion, although i think your opinion is trash...funny though cuz i like Black Sabbath and saw them a while ago, i like Static - X, saw System of a Down, Disturbed, NIN, etc....yet I LOVE HIP HOP.
i admit, i dont like rap...because NO they are NOT the same thing. hip hop is just real emotion. more to it than u think...what u hear is *beep* from the radio which is trash...u listen to ACTUAL hip hop, i would not be the least bit surprised if u were moved by it in some type of way.
i like a lot of music by Hip Hop is by far the best in my opinion. i love the artists i mentioned because i can understand them and i like their work a lot...unlike some metal thats just screaming and yelling to no end. like..."hey lets listen to some music and chill, oh heres something.." "BLAAAAAH, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, eeerrrrgggh, eeeeerrgh again, blaaaaaaaaah blaaaaah blaaaaaah, cry, tear, blaaaaaaaaah, evil face, blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, raaaarrrrrr, roaaaaarr, meeoooooooow, baaaaaaaaark, baaaaaaaaaaark" WOW.....GREAT STUFF THERE.

you're partially correct. Commercialized rap is what sucks and what sucks even more is that people think its representative of Hip Hop in general and thats just not true. If you go and listen to rappers like Lupe Fiasco he's not rapping about bitches and hos but he has something authentic to say thats worth hearing but many arent familiar with his music... Whats good about this movie is it looks like they're getting back to the roots of Hip Hop culture and trying to leave behind the commercial world which is absolute crap. In theory RAP doesnt suck, rap is a great tool for people to get out there feelings. Its poetic. Its beautiful. The people who are being recognized and imitated are what actually sucks (with an exception of a few rappers like Jay Z and Kanye who yes are commercialized but always find a way to bring out their authentic voices listen to "Beach Chair" by Jay Z and "Roses" by Kanye)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! there's, like, 15 retainers in there...

congrats if that's your only input your a moron hip-hop and rap are totally different styles of spoken word hip-hop has a poetic flow mainly pushing positive messages especially within the past 6 months hip-hop has risen up there's a common misconception of rap and what hip hop is now the music marketed by a lot of mainstream artist that's mainly rap music or u can put it under the category of gangsta rap those artist include people like g-unit, rick ross, game, and other mainstream artist who truly have nothing to say but people like common, lupe fiasco, mos def all rap to inform/inspire the communuity thru spoken word but i highly doubt u can comprehend any of this being that ur choices are restricted to such terrible bands R.I.P randy rhodes, dimebag darrell, and Hideto Matsumoto because thats all metal has to offer these great guitarist heres a word of advice friend dont bash anything until u know what ur bashing cause i seems ur an average under educated american who doe

to quote KRS-ONE "RAP IS SOMETHING YOU DO, HIP HOP IS SOMETHING YOU LIVE"

i don't believe that hip hop is common, lupe fiasco, mos def, etc and i dont believe that rap is rick ross, the game, g-unit, etc...they are one in the same, RAP ARTISTS...thats like saying that poison and the beatles aren't rock artists, because they are, they're just found in diiferent genres

i love that there are rap groups/rappers that are out there speaking the truth (to name a few; binary star (even though they broke up), blackstar, the roots). i also love the underground cats that are out there on the fronlines doin it every day (MF DOOM, el producto, cage, dangermouse) and other guys like that.

but at the same time i like to throw in a big tymers cd and ball out for an hour. say what you will about crunk/deerty south music but recognize that it is a form of rap as well. no one can tell me that the game's 'DOCUMENTARY', even though it was MAINSTREAM, wasn't a damn good album. sameways that you can't tell me that the pharcyde's 'BIZARRE RIDE 2 THA PHARCYDE' isn't one of your favorite albums either.

there is something to be said for the integrity of hip hop, that the music just isn't the same. i will admit that the beats off of blackmoon's 'ENTA DA STAGE' contrast with great difference to the beats of just blaze's last album he recently produced, but what we need to recognize is that music, in any form is all about progression.

my favorite rap albums were made in between 1990-1995, i will gladly admit that. wu-tang, bootcamp clik, epmd, those are some of my favorite rappers. on the flip side i love listening to anything made by manny fresh, or selected works by master p. im a big fan of devin the dude, but i can also dig guys like k-os.

what i'm saying here is that being an avid listener of ANYTHING you may wanna label RAP or HIP HOP, and being a striving producer myself, i've learned one thing. LISTEN TO EVERYTHING. you'd be suprised by what you may like, all you need to do is give it a chance
