Too many irritating characters

I actually liked what this movie was trying to do. It had a interesting story. But I think the characters ruined it. I'm used to 1, maybe 2, irritating characters in a movie. This movie managed a full cast.

--Roy was about as cheesy as they come. He acted like a 7yr old and was totally insensitive to his wife. He didn't have a clue. It seemed almost unbelievable that he would let himself get seperated from his wife in a foreign country. My guess is that this was written in for the suspense of making us think foul play with Carlos.

--Abby was a total dud. But I think that had more to do with Kate Mara than the character. She's a bore in any movie I see her in. Not a good actress at all. Someone better could've brought some life to that character.

--Carlos was a pain in the a$$. He talked to much, was overbearing, and disrespectful. But he's the bad guy that's suppose to be the irritating character.

--Jessie was okay only because the others were so bad. She seemed like a woman who only wanted whoever was top dog at the moment. She came with Roy, he comes up missing, and she gives in to Carlos. Kills him and then all is okay with Roy.

A different cast and I think this could've been a great movie.

Yeah - to say Harrelson`s character was am underwritten stereotypical caricature, is quite an understatement; his role`s a flat out embarrassment. Mortimer`s character does somewhat better, but is still marred by one instance of completely irrational and unbelievable out-of-the-left-field behaviour.

i totally disagree, the movie is crap but not because of the cast, actually they are the one who kept me watching tel the end. the problem is in the script in the second half and the director's management of the actors.
