Its obviously not in continuity with the seires. The original series and all its related shows are serious, adult and mature compared to this crap. This movie was obviously made for the kids and had borrowe the original designs from the original series.

If this was a stand alone cartoon for little kids it might be fun... for those little kids only. But they tried to tack it on to the Animated Series by using production design and some of the voices while not bothering to make it fit in the continuity. It was clearly a rush job to get something new out at the same time as Superman Returns. I'm halfway through and I won't even watch it. Not because of the voice differences but because it's not part of the animated series like I thought. Too bad, oh well, I did get my free ticket to Superman Returns out of it though. Now I'll sell it back for a few bucks and break even.

Agreed, this movie is good for your 4-8 year old sons! I think my son would LOVE it.

And that's the only way I would see Superman Returns as well. That was a really bad live-action Superman movie...ranks up there with Superman 3 and 4.

I think you can have it set in the DCAU, but not as part of the Superman TAS... Instead, you can see it being set before the events of the parallel reality's Superman as seen in "A Better World" in the second season of Justice League. Sets an interesting turns for Supes, allows for the designs and actors to return within the context, and makes that Superman's dark turn all the more sad - especially after seeing what he went through in this movie.

I like to think of Brainiac Attacks as an 'optional' piece of canon, it certainly can't be any worst than Static Shock's first season. For my personal viewing order of the DCAU, I place it before the show's last three episodes (the 'last season' produced). A few things we know rrom this movie:

1) Clark/Superman hasn't kissed Lois yet, while their first official kiss is in the series finale of Superman the Animated Series.

2) Other heroes like Green Lantern and villains like Mxyzptlk are alluded to have been established, both which were of course introduced in TAS.

3) Brainiac's shattered chip can explain how the Justice League has a remnant of him in the later Static Shock crossover.

...As for Lex, eh, I just think of his personality within this movie as his version of a mid-life crisis...

"Just tell the minister, I'm gonna be a few minutes late". *Cue John Williams' Superman theme*

It isn't but they borrowed some stuff from TAS.
