Why does this game ignore a player's history?

The game doesn't count previous awards and Pro Bowl selections and that is stupid. For example I'm playing franchise mode with the Rams and I've played 2 seasons. The game shows Torry Holt as only making 2 Pro Bowls. Of course he had made 6 prior to this game coming out so that should make it 8 but no, they only count what you've done on the game. It makes their career achievments seem not as impressive.

Another stupid thing is a player retiring when he's setting the league on fire. Issac Bruce retired after making the Pro Bowl, coming in 5th in the MVP voting, and 101 catches for 1,9000 yards and about 30 TDs. Then he just retires, with a year still remaining on his contract I might add.

One last question, is there anyway to get the historic teams to actually have the players name instead of just a number?

I know a lot about NFL history a from watching NFL Films, so I just put in their names from the historic rosters.
