Why didn't they just push the truck to get it un-stuck?

I know it's not the "ideal" situation, but it probably would have been better than walking 10 miles in Colorado winter weather....

Why didn't they just push the truck...

Because a Ford F150 weighs about 6000 pounds; it was in a muddy ditch; and they would be pushing uphill from beneath it.

I've helped my step dad push his F250 out of a hole, it's not impossible... just very hard.

I just watched this. My question is - if they were only 10 miles from his Mom's home why the heck didn't he just say "heh - we'll be at my Mom's place in 10 minutes and then you can use a real phone. That'll be easier than backing up on mountain roads in the snow." instead of backing at all.

Who is going to push it?
