the murdered girls name was Elinor Bishop, nickname Billie.
singer Billie Holidays real name was Elinore...thought it was an interesting connection...

Also her description in the beginning. Slow, sexually loose, bad student, fit that of the character "Billie" from the movie "Buster and Billie." The jock fell in love with Billie in that movie.

I think perhaps that was a deliberate connection. I like they way that they reference actors/singers from the past. Lillian Gish gets a mention in this one.
