Going after Bruce at a crowded University, in the middle of Daylight!!!!

Why the HELL would Ross attack Bruce at the universiy?
This scene is stupid beyond belief. I can buy the whole superhero thing. It's sci fi and i love these sorts of movies. But trying to capture Bruce this way is just really bad script writing.

Is Ross not aware that there is a gigantic chance that Bruce would become the Hulk. He knows that the Hulk, when being attacked is basically going to destroy everthing around him. His appearence would be noticed very easily.

How could the government allow a general to send a huge military operation into a public area, with lots of civilians in it?

Are they not aware that people could see the Hulk and record it on their cell phones?

There could of bean people getting blown apart and huge amount of damage bean done to the university. General Ross took public saftey and threw it out the window.

Remember in 'Iron Man' when the military covered up Tony taking out the the terroists attacking the villiage? At the end of the film the Iron man suit battling the iron monger was also covered up.

The American military would be sued and taken to court.
General Ross would be booted out of the army.
The whole American government would be found guilty of endangering civilian lifes and causing a huge amount of damage to public property.

How is Ross allowed to go into a populated public area and blow everything up?

They basically exposed the Hulk's existence to the entire world.
Are they not aware that every piece of recorded information can be viewed by the the entire planet in an instant via the internet?

A lot of people criticise Ang Lee's Hulk. However the way that the army capture Bruce in it is really inteligent and safe.

While he is at a secluded cabin in the woods they shoot him with a tranquilizer dart without him seeing them. He is knocked out and therfore not a threat.

This method of obtaining him is way more safer and smarter than the 2008 version. The writing for the 2003 movie is way better in that sense.

The issue is that Banner was so careful and so hard to find that Ross would take any chance he had to pounce for fear he wouldn't get another,

reply

Yes, Ross couldn't necessarily afford to be selective where he fought The Hulk. And it's not like Banner spent a lot of time in deserted areas waiting for Ross to attack him.

Besides, where would the fun in an Incredible Hulk movie be if Banner always hulked up in safe / appropriate places? The scene at the university is one of my favourite in the film, even if it is a bit silly when held up to scrutiny.

reply

That's the point of Ross in the comics he goes insanely mad on trying to capture or kill the hulk.

You're questioning the intelligence of a career military man? He's a narrow-minded and self-centered idiot. They all are.

General Ross: "Now she'll see."

Sure he wants to capture the Hulk. But he also wants his daughter to see Banner as he does: as a menace best cut up for parts for the military to make weapons of. Then she won't bug him later.

As for the safety of everyone at the university, Ross doesn't care.
